I have to say it.  I've been wanting to say it for a long time now.

I think Dooce has her head so far up her own arse that she's starting to believe her own hype.

But saying something against Dooce is just inviting death-threat style comments...and the obligatory comments about being jealous or envious or just plain bitchy.

I can be bitchy - I know it.

I could write quite a lot on the minutiae of what it is exactly that gets my hackles up over Dooce - but I don't want to be mean or nasty, I don't think 500 words of anti-Dooce invective is very creative or useful.

I feel better now that I've got that off my chest.

what sparked this? what did i miss?

i like reading Dooce, but i have to admit, and this doesn't make much sense since i'm a part of it, but i hate her audience. i especially hate the people who comment on her photos on flickr. the truth is, they aren't all that hot. i've seen better. but those people comment like Mary the Mother of God herself took those pictures of weeds and OMG! they are AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!!

thank you. i now know i'm not truly alone on this one.

the straw that broke the camel's back was the post she has up at the moment about Brittney Spears, and it's "sister" post she has up at "Alpha Mom" (if that doesn't say it all I don't know what does....) re: Ms Spears.

It's just...enough I suppose, I've just had enough...you know what I mean?

I think that ever since her website started to pay her mortgage there has been a shift (subtle maybe) in the content, tone and attitude of her posts. I find that the whole "Dooce" thing is grating on my nerves lately.

IMHO of course.
