I can't believe how slack I've been lately. I haven't updated for weeks...and it's not because nothing's happening, that's for sure.
In no particular order the following needs to be recorded,
Romeo is staying. There are too many reasons why - the biggest one is that I just love him, he's adorable, quirky, fun and a real joy to have around. (unfortunately his poops are not)
We (finally) got our paperwork from Family & Child Services to proceed with our application for International Adoption. For a number of reasons we're deferring our option to continue for 6months.
I met up with my Auntie, long lost Uncle, my cousin and their respective partners, children, and pets at a bbq a few weeks back. It was wonderful to experience a family get together with people who share a history with me.
One of my FDC kids departed suddenly. Both the children and I were very upset, and it has been hardest for them to adjust. Smartie misses Blondie quite acutely and says every so often - "When Blondie's finished being at his far-away-house, he'll come back to see me." or "I'm sad because I haven't got a friend any more.". Unfortunately the reason for the departure could have been avoided, and perhaps next time his parents will consider their child first rather than themselves. That said, with Christmas on the horizon, in the way only little kids can, they completely forgot about Blondie and concentrated on the task at hand - PRESENTS and how to get them!
Second String is off to a great start. It's a little quite at the moment, due to the festive season, but the due date for getting started is Jan 2nd, and I can't wait to see what everyone is working on.
The deck is almost finished. 'nuff said.
I do not have carpel tunnel syndrome. Just arthritis. Yay. and I quote my Neurologist - "Well at least if it was Carpel Tunnel I could have fixed it for you.", he then proceeded to tell me that because practically every female on my Mother's side (her included) suffers from BAD arthritis, that "You're fucked basically". I love my neurologist, he's so....cool - I don't know. I think I'm in love with him.
I know there's been heaps more. But I can't think. I have of course left out the whole "FDC Valdiation process" because I am still too tied up in knots over the whole thing to speak rationally about it.
